Self-Reflection

This practicum gave me the opportunity to build a foundational knowledge and skillset of digital marketing. I felt comfortable trying, failing, and learning in the process. Something I really enjoyed was creating social media content for various types of clients and learning to break away from my learned academic writing style. Creating a different set of writing and creativity skills when developing copy and thinking outside the box with media and graphic design – a skill set I learned on this job essentially – definitely developed my ways of thinking. The skills I built are all valuable to me for post-graduation life because not only will the experience look good on my resume but, the vocational skills I built, new digital programs learned, and meaningful collaboration achieved, all work towards my goal of obtaining a communications and/or marketing job in the near future. Working with Vanspec showed me the realities of an industry I was interested in and essentially lit a fire within me, validated my choices, and will definitely help propel me towards graduating and seeking success.
